Mrs. Deshpande is a Hindi-language crime thriller directed by Nagesh Kukunoor and starring Madhuri Dixit. The series follows a convicted serial killer who helps the police track down a copycat murderer using the same green nylon rope that became her signature weapon.
About the Project
The title sequence places the viewer in the victim’s final moments. An endless green rope weaves through an abstract limbo, gradually forming hands, feet, and ultimately the face of Mrs. Deshpande herself, the last image the victim sees before everything fades away.
To achieve this, we combined a range of CG techniques, rope simulations, and compositing to create the evolving sculptural forms. The sequence also features a live-action plate of Madhuri Dixit, filmed specifically for the title sequence, allowing the final reveal to seamlessly bridge the abstract world with the character.
